Corrosion Inhibitor
Acids are used in various stimulation treatments including matrix acidizing jobs, acid fracturing, spearheading, breakdown and cleanup applications. Since acids attack metals and can compromise the integrity of metals it is important to reduce or prevent acid corrosion. Excessive hydrogen produced by the reaction of acid and metal can also lead to compromised metal integrity through decreased ductility. Corrosion Inhibitors slowdown the attack of acid on metal in the drill pipe, casing, tubulars and surface lines. Testing is required to determine the effectiveness of a corrosion inhibitor with a particular acid formulation when exposed to a certain metal.
Acid Corrosion Inhibitor Intensifier
Acid Corrosion Inhibitor Intensifier are organic acid blends that are used to raise the effective temperature range of an acid corrosion inhibitor. They work well in HCl, HF, acetic acid or a blend of these acids.
